Nick Faldo (2007) 18 holes - 7,209 yds - Par 72

Faldo signature course near Angkor Wat temples. Cambodia’s first PGA standard championship golf course. and National Audubon Society's Golf Course Sanctuary program for the protection of the local flora & fauna. The course is a fair test of golf for all players and requires thinking and strategy on every hole to score well. For example, the strategically placed bunkers and water hazards are tricky, but easily seen from each tee box. The greens have plenty of subtle undulations and they reward and encourage a variety of approach shots. On the other hand each holes difficulty can be moderated daily by specific pin positions, easy or challenging. Furthermore, various tee box locations allow for both low and mid handicappers to choose the right course length for their game.

Kentaro Sato (2009) 18 holes - 7.114 yds - Par 72

Third and latest international standard golf course to be opened in Angkor Wat, designed by Kentaro Sato, the well-known Japanese golf course designer.  The Siem Reap Lake Golf Course layout features generous palm lined fairways. Both nines open with unsal long par 5's and the toughest par 4's are saved for holes 9 and 18, insuring that golfers keep their concentration through to the end of the front and back, respectively, to score well. Another unique feature are the meandering creeks that cross several of the holes almost making for blind water hazards and severe greenside bunkering which demands accurate shot making into the greens. On the other hand the fairways are wide and flat and the greens very large which balances out the course difficultly very ni

Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat

Emerging from a violent past of human rights atrocities, war and political instability under the Khmer Rouge rule in the late 1970's, Cambodia is recovering from its past and slowly becoming a top destination on the South East Asian travel map. The magnificent temples of the 'Lost City' of Angkor are an irresistible attraction. Modern day Cambodia is the successor kingdom of the powerful Khmer Empire which ruled most of what is today Vietnam, Laos and Thailand from the 9th to 14th centuries.

Siem Reap

Siem Reap is the gateway city for the temples of Angkor and la new tourist resort destination. Although soemwaht marred by new modern buildings, Siem Reap still features beautiful colonial and Chinese style architecture building flanquing the streets of the Old French Quarter. The town itself offers many attractions for visitors, including dance performances, museums and craft shops.

Angkor Wat

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in SE Asia. Stretching over some 200 square miles, including forested area, Angkor Archaeological Park include the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century. They include the famous Temple of Angkor Wat and, at Angkor Thom, the Bayon Temple with its countless sculptural decorations. Another significant element of the Angkor complex is the irrigation system of the region based on the great reservoirs, which provided the economic infrastructure for the successive Khmer capitals and their rulers.
