Extending to the west of the resort, the fairways of "Le Chateau", spans over 6,433 meters. Longer and more demanding that is sister course Le Riou, it will test the ability of the more advanced player. Both courses offer the same degree of pleasure, with generous greens and fairways, although lakes, cascades and gullies add a pleasing touch of spice to the game. Both courses also benefit from breathtaking surroundings. From the ancient hilltop villages of Caillan, Montauroux, Tourrettes and Fayence to the untamed beauty of the foothills of the Southern Alps, the most sumptuous landscapes unfolding one after the other as one follows the courses. Thanks to the use of optimal construction techniques and top-level installations such as a comprehensive irrigation system, the quality of the playing surface is at its very best all year long, matching the climate which allows for year round playing.

Further afield yet within easy reach of the resort, the French Riviera boasts an impressive collection of top class layouts and vintage golf courses designed by such legendary names as Harry S. Colt, Robert Trent Jones Senior, Robert von Hagge and Gary Player.

• Royal Mougins Golf Club

Robert von Hagge (1993)

In a secluded valley between ancient stone terraces covered with mature olive trees, Royal Mougins is challenging for the professional - it is the venue of the Air France Cannes Open, while remaining accessible to the amateur, who will enjoy a exhilarating design with outstanding landscaping. Von Hagge has designed the course like an Impressionist painter, playing with the lights and shadows of the lush vegetation surrounding the course to enhance the contours and shapes of greens and fairways. A splendid course in a superb location much celebrated by painters and artists. To ensure that guests are given the same exclusive golf experience as members, Royal Mougins only allows a maximum of twenty visitors to play per day.

• Cannes-Mougins Golf Country Club

Peter Allis & Dave Thomas (1976)

Cannes-Mougins is one of the finest and most prestigious club on the Riviera and  boasts such honorary members as the Aga Kahn, the Prince of Monaco or the Baron de Rotschild. The club has also been the venue of Cannes Open for more than ten years and it has a reputation for championship green keeping and spotless conditions.

• Cannes Mandelieu

Harry S. Colt (1891)

Located in a beautiful pine grove on the shores of the Mediterranea at the outskirts of Cannes, Cannes-Mandelieu is the oldest golf club on the Cote d'Azur. Founded back in 1891 by the Grand Duke Michael of Russia, it has been ever since frequented by the European aristocracy and the Jet Set. The Club features two courses: the Grand Duc Michel nine hole course and the eighteen hole Old Course. The Grand Duc is a challenging nine holler stretching through lush umbrella pine groves. The Old Course shares the same natural setting, but with the particularity that a river has to be crossed twice by ferry between holes!

• Riviera Golf & Country Club

Robert Trent Jones Senior (1991)

Laid out in the most beautiful surroundings, under the shade of oaks and pine trees, with the gentle sound of a river running in the background. Near to the town center and only a few drives away from the Bay of Cannes, the Riviera Golf Club is an oasis of peace and tranquility where everybody can take a rest.

• Monte Carlo Golf Club

The Committee (1911)

Only a short drive away from Monte Carlo and after a steep climb on the last slopes of the Alps dramatically plunging into the Mediterranean, the Monte Carlo Golf Club is perched in a breathtaking site, nine hundred meters above the sea. From its vantage position, the club seems literrilly suspended between the sky and the sea, looking down on what looks like a miniature version of Monaco!
